Dr. Amanda Guidero will lead us through a conflict resolution workshop.  Dr. Guidero, is Fellow of Conflict Engagement at the Creighton University School of Law.  She holds a Ph.D. in International Conflict Management from Kennesaw State University.  After earning her Ph.D. she continued her work at Kennesaw State University as a postdoc and research assistant.  Her research assistantship involved, among other things, work with a wide range of programs sponsored by the Georgia Council for International Visitors.  She has continued working with nonprofit organizations and is currently a research associate for TRENDS Global.  Her interactions with nonprofits have informed her research which focuses on civil society organizations, leadership, and decision making in high risk environments.

Dr. Jorge Zuniga will relate the story of the creation and deployment of the Cyborg Beast, a 3-D printed, upper extremity prosthesis that has made artificial hands affordable and more useful for children around the world.  The Cyborg Beast was named one of the best inventions of 2014 by MSN.com. Dr. Zuniga earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  He currently works at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where he holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomechanics.  Dr. Zungia's team at UNO continues to refine the Cyborg Beast and develop other, low-cost, 3-D printed prostheses, orthotics and assistive devices for children.
